Does anyone else have a really hard time finding new ways to write
about their writing? I feel like if I talk about certain things, it's just
being repetitive. I'm sure there are WAY more things I could write
about my writing, but I get this gut feeling that it's being monotonous.
So, I'll talk about how to write your emotions without using a pen or
computer. I'm in art and I feel that it's a lot easier to draw your feeling
out then to write it. When all the words fail, I feel that drawing how you
are feeling is really effective. Some of the most famous painting depict
emotions or events and don't even need a statement to show what the
artwork is about. It's so weird how a painting or drawing can speak to
a person and get them thinking without even having to write an essay
or talk. Paintings can show the inner thoughts of someone to even the
despair an artist has been through. This is not about my writing, but being
enrolled in art really helps me use colors and drawing techniques to express
my inner thoughts and emotions without words. Crazy!

Agreed.
ReplyDeleteSame process everytime. Write, rewrite, rewrite again and turn it in. maybe rewrite one extra time. the only part with you second part of this blog is that im a terrible drawer! but if we could i would do the best i could.
Hmm, I'm pretty much the same except I usually end up using music or photography-I'm too much of a perfectionist with my artwork as far as sketching or even painting goes... Lately, I've been really into music without words: anything from techno, to acoustic arrangements, piano, or even symphonic styles. Possibly reflected by my orchestra event saturday? Anyway, sometimes words just can't come close to an emotion, especially when you're not sure how you feel, yourself. It's a great way to sort out your thoughts!=]
ReplyDeleteThat is an interesting view on writing. If I was "artsy" maybe I would try that. I do not draw very well but like the idea.
ReplyDeleteI agree it is alot easier to show you emotion in a painting then in words. Because, in a painting you are able to use different kind of colors and styles. Yes, there is different styles of writing but if you are like me and have a hard time using words I think art would be the way to go. Also, what kelsey said about music the tone of voice and stuff like that can tell your feelings. With all that said I think that if a person is not good at showing there feelings in writing there are many more ways out there to show it if you think about it. Good topic moe!
ReplyDeleteI love thinking about the connections between writing and drawing because I think the creative process is so similar.
ReplyDeleteMoe, to help with these Case Study blogs, try to focus on a specific writing assignment. For example, how/why is it different writing for the blogs vs. writing the major assignments?
